Major Announcement
On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, following a joint meeting of the Bishop’s Committee of St. Gabriel’s and the Vestry of St. Stephen’s, and in the presence of the Rev. Canon Landon Moore, the Diocesan Canon for Congregations, the Bishop’s Committee of St. Gabriel’s voted to proceed with the merger of the two parishes into a single entity to be known as:
St. Gabriel's & St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church
On Wednesday, May 6, Bishop Provenzano granted verbal approval to move forward with the merger. Three members of St. Stephen’s Church will join the Bishop’s Committee, bringing its total membership to eleven, including two Wardens.
On May 19, 2026, Bishop Provenzano also appointed the Reverend Canon Dr. Frederick Walker as Associate Priest of St. Gabriel’s, effective September 6, 2026.
The two congregations came together for a Welcoming Barbecue on Saturday, September 12, and celebrated their first joint Eucharistic service on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
Please keep both congregations in your prayers during this time of transition. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the priest or any member of the Bishop’s Committee.
